Hindrances To Answered PraYeR

7 Worry
Another reason people do not have their prayers answered is that after they pray, they worry.

Philippians 4:6 -: Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, presents your requests to God.

Anxiety, which is another word for worry, means spending today trying to figure out tomorrow or spending today fearing tomorrow

When we pray and then worry, we are not exercising trust in God . We are not fully releasing our burdens or needs to Him: we are taking them Back and working the over our minds. When we insist upon keeping our hands on the situations we pray about and not letting god have them completely, He does not have much freedom to answer our prayers, We say we trust God , but we want to have a backup plan in case God does not come through for us Worry is meditation on our problems, but we are told to meditate on God’s word not our problems

The opposite of worry and anxiety is peace , and if we re going to live in peace we need to learn how to live our lives one day at a time
Jesus says in

Matew6:34Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.

Other words Jesus is telling us not to spend today worrying about tomorrow. All of our today’s have enough trouble- and we only have enough grace enough energy to deal with today. Just as each day has its own trouble, each day has its own supply of grace. God does not give us grace today to live tomorrow. We need to make the most of grace we have today, refuse to be anxious about tomorrow, determine to leave our prayers in God’s hands and not take our problems back by worrying.

8 Negative Confession
We can render our prayers ineffective with negative confessions when we allow doubt and unbelief to take root in our minds and than begin to speak negatively, we can hinder our Prayer. When we prayer and ask God to do something and then turn around and say,” I am afraid God will not come through for me,” that is a negative confession.
The words we speak are powerful, more powerful then we realize in fact,

Proverbs 18:21 -: Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.

In other words, we will have what we say , so we need to be speaking positively not negatively

Isaiah 53:7 says about Jesus “He was oppressed and afflicted, yet he did not open his mouth; he was led like a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before its shearers is silent, so he did not open his mouth.

He knew that he could thwart or delay God’s plan by speaking negatively at the wrong time, Sure, his trial were difficulty – unimaginable grueling –but he did not complain.
We nee to able to make the same statement about ourselves –that when we are going through hard times we open not our mouths We do not complain; we do not murmur; we do not speak ill of others, we do not doubt god with our words You see, our words do not exit independently of who we are. Instead, our words represent how we are because they reveal what is in our heart.

Mathew 13:34 -: Brood of vipers! How can you, being evil, speak good things? For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks.

When our heart are full of doubt, we will make negative confession, but when they are filled with faith , our words will reveal our faith and trust in God .When God hears a prayer followed by a native confession , he does not respond , but when we hears a prayer that is accompanied with words that express confidence in Him. He delights to answer.

9 Lack of Gratitude
A lack of gratitude is a hindrance to answered prayer, why should god do more for us if we are murmuring about what he has already done ?by the same token, if we genuinely appreciate His goodness and have hearts that are thanks full for all He has done, he will be inclined to continue to bless us.
Thanksgiving keeps us focused on God On the other hand a lack of gratitude cause people to never satisfied an to talk about discontent. I do not thing anything opens the door of enemy to influence a person’s life like murmuring an complaining, because we are agreeing with him when we grumble, However, when we speak words of thanksgiving we are agreeing with god because the bible is full of Scriptures that instruct us to be thankful an not to complain. A thankful person is a powerful person, and when we are thankful god is able and will to do more for us than He has ever done before
We can “be “thankful even if we don’t’ practically feel thankful. We can feel wrong and still choose to do what is right. Until we learn this dynamic principal, there is no hope of
Truly walking in the Sprit.

The Apostle Paul, who knew much suffering during his life, and certainly had reason to complain about some of his circumstances, said this,

Philippians 4:11-12 -:11 Not that I speak in regard to need, for I have learned in whatever state I am, to be content: 12 I know how to be abased and I know how to abound. Everywhere and in all things I have learned both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need.

In other words we need to stay thankful in every situation no matter how we feel. True gratitude is not only being thankful when things are going well but also remaining steadfast when dealing with life’s struggles , obstacles and disappointments when god sees that we are thankful not matter what He can answer our prayer.

Hindrances To Answered PraYeR

4:Doubt and unbelief
We know that faith in god is the foundational to answered payer, so it stands to reason that doubt and unbelief-which are opposites of faith –will keep our prayers from being answered. Faith is a powerful spiritual dynamic, and it something God responds to and blesses. But our faith is not without opposition .Satan will attack our minds with doubt, unbelief and questioning, and when he does, we need to check in which our hearts and see what they say. We can believe something in our hearts even when our minds questions it, and we need to go with what is in our hearts and not with what is in our heads, We are not supposed to believe our doubts we are supposed to doubt our doubts and believe our God.

One of the keys to overcome doubts and unbelief is found in

Hebrews 12:2 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of [our] faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.

Who is the leader and the source of our faith .. and is also its finisher.
Many times , doubt and unbelief start with distraction, when we are distracted from God’s promises or God ‘s ability to come thorough for us,then we begin to doubt. We start thinking more and more about our problems or our challengers, and then our faith begins to diminish But we need to do what Hebrew 12:2 says to do and keep looking to Jesus. In order to resist doubt ad stay in faith ,we need to stare at Him, at his goodness ,at His ability to help us , at his love for us, and meagerly glance at our problems. We do not deny the existence of problems but we do effuse to pay too much attention to them
We have to remember that He is the source of our faith and he finishes what he stars-so there’s no reason to doubt .
The apostle James said tat when we doubt, we become double –minded and the double-minded man receives nothing he asks for from God because he is unstable in all of his ways.

James 1:6-8
6 But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind. 7 For let not that man suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord; 8 he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways

We need to decide what we have believe and not change our minds when our circumstances begin to waver, We need to remember that

John 11:40
40 Jesus said to her, “Did I not say to you that if you would believe you would see the glory of God?”

Promises that we will see the Glory of god is seen only, if we believe!

5:Praying outside of God’s will
Not praying according to God’s will of course, keeps our prayers from being answered One of the best way to make sure we are praying in the will of God it to pray the Word as much as we can.
We will not find Scriptures that address all our needs or wants in detail but we ill find Scriptures that tell us God will meet our needs.
Sometime there are thing we want to pray for but we are not sure whether those thing are god’s will for us, according to scripture. In those cases we simply need to ask God to give it if it is his will to do so, and to help us be satisfied with his decision
One the other hand, there are other things we know to be part of god’s will because He does specify them in his Word.
When we pray in agreement with gods will we will have what we ask for, We may have to wait because god’s timing is part of his will.

6:Prayer with the wrong motives

James 4:2
You lust and do not have. You murder and covet and cannot obtain. You fight and war. Yet you do not have because you do not ask.

Your do not have, because you do know ask, or you do ask and yet fail to received, because you ask with wrong purpose and evil, selfish motives.
In prayer, the reason we pray is much more important that the words we say . God look at our hearts, and when He see an impure motive, He cannot answer prayer.
Having a pure heart that truly loves God and loves people is always an acceptable motive to the lord .Selfishness is unacceptable; revenge is unacceptable ;manipulation and control are unacceptable; jealously is unacceptable ,pride is unacceptable , In fact everything that is selfish and unloving is an unacceptable motive .
We need to be asking God to purify our hearts on a regular basis so that we can pray with the right motives , We need to honestly examine or motives. Taking a look at our motives can be painful, but it must be done if we truly desire to live before God with pure hearts.

Hindrances To Answered PraYeR

Prayer in simple terms is termed as the communication that we have with God.
Communication in layman’s language is exchange of thought and ideas between two individuals. Like a simple communication with you friends on a telephone or out in a park, there are many thing that can disturb that conversation, like noise, misunderstanding ect. Similarly there are some things that can act in ways of disturbances or hinders to answered prayer. Here are a few.

1: prayerlessness
I know this sounds simple , but our prayer are not answered when we do not pray
The bible says ‘You do not have, because you do not ask ‘
We have to ask for what we want and need, sometimes we work on situation in our minds or talk about them with our friends or wish or hope but we do not pray Thinking , wishing hoping and talking with others are not prayer; only prayer is prayer , When we have a need or a situation that concerns us, we are only praying when we talk to God about it
Did you know that God is waiting for us to make requests of him in prayer? Prayerlessness acts as a hindrances for god to open a door for us in our problems, or even from working in your lives and in the lives of your loved ones

2. Lack of boldness
Not only do we need to pray in order to have our prayers answered, we also need to pray, boldly , which means without fear and unreservedly Jesus has made a way for us to approach God with boldness because he made us righteous through His death on the cross, Because of what he has done for us, we can go to God with total confidence and pray unashamedly knowing that he loves us , hears us , and will answer our prayers in the best possible way So come to the Courts of his presence in boldness with your offering of thanksgiving , praise and supplications

3.Sin
Psalms says :’if I regard iniquity in my heart the Lord will not hear me” In other words sin that we are aware and refuse to deal with is a hindrance to answered prayer. None of us are perfect .We many all have something in our lives that displeases God , but it may be unintentional and we may not even realize it. Once God convicts us of sin and makes us aware of it, we must deal with it Otherwise we are regarding iniquity in our heart in that case God will not hear us.
If we have sin hidden in our hearts we cannot pray with confidence that god will answer.
When God reveals sin in our lives, we nee to stop what we are doing and repent, We need to revers him so much that we take him seriously and immediately! This means we do everything within our power to make sure that our relationship with him is clear an pure and unobstructed by sin Otherwise our prayer will go unheard and unanswered.

There are few more aspects that act as hindrance to answered prayer ‘God willing! ’We would be looking into them individually over this month. ‘May this help you in your prayer life and mine?

God fills like no Other

Many of us might be having a small area of emptiness in our lives, which we try to hide from others or even pretend to hide it from ourselves. It might be because of a lot of things. We call this emptiness a void.
Many of us might turn to addictions, like drinking, smoking, porn .and even people. As our despite attempt to come out of that feeling out of emptiness, unworthiness , or even loneliness or longing ness for someone or something.
It is not wise to seek to fill it from our own understanding or wisdom. . If you try it for yourselves you will soon come to know that it does not help, and you feel all the more empty and incomplete.
The Idols will never completely satisfy us. Do not let the lust for immediate gratification pushes you to fill your void with anything.

If you are one such a person, who has a void, has a feeling that something is missing, or even thinks that you are not complete. I have great news for you! The God who created you, is sufficient, to fill your heart, from that emptiness

When a void is created in our life, it doesn’t mean God is withholding a good thing. The void is there so God can fill it. It is wise for us to allow Him to fill it in His time and in His way.

In the very first book, In its very first chapter of the bible. We get to read:

Gen 1:2 And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.

It is from this void and the darkness condition, God created the world, and the entire wonderful things that we get to see around us that we call his creation, his handiworks. That includes us as well.
So it is without doubt that ,the God who transformed something empty and dark and turned it into something magnificent ,Is sufficient to fill our heart and transform our empty life, to a work of wonder filled with contentment,

God is good. That means we can truly trust in Him to meet all our heart’s longings, all our needs in every area of our life. The challenge is to be content to wait knowing God will do the thing in us and for us. God’s ways are much higher than ours.

We at times tent to find contentment in things we do a short time , and later , come to a puzzling question , What is the meaning of my life , What have I accomplished , Have I accomplished anything?. You might be someone who has been in a profession for 30 years filled with success but now when you turn back you see that it was nothing, It has not made you , it was just a feeling that was once there but no more this makes us sad again ,
For those of you I have a verse in the bible just for you.

Mat 6:19 Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal:

Mat 6:20 But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal:

May the thing that make you, be the qualities from above, values, principals in life that might be left behind , when you leave. And not materialistic things that last only for a little while and dissolves like smoke .

Know this for yourselves, at every stage of our lives , we value many materialistic things , that latter becomes less significant in our lives and then we move to other things this process of knowing and letting it go continues ,the bible says

1Co 13:11 When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things.

I hope this would be sufficient for us to conclude that, we are complete when God complete us, we are filled only when God fills us , He fills like no other. The bible conforms this by these words.

Joh 4:13 Jesus answered and said unto her, Whosoever drinketh of this water shall thirst again:
Joh 4:14 But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.

So Wait for the Lord and He will accomplish that which concerns you. He withholds no good thing from him who walks uprightly, and in the good timing of His wisdom, you will receive His very best for you.

Make your mark, in life . And let that mark you make be from God.

God Satisfies The Heart of his Children

Take the time to look up into the sky, see the birds, has god not clothed them with their feathers, has not the lord Supplied meals for animals in the forest, has not the Lord pored rain and wetted the desert sand, If God has provided all this , Why ? Do we at times Question or even ask, in murmur at least, is god able to Provide my Need’s.

Noah was in the big ship for 150 days or even more, God told Noah that I would rain for 40 days and 40 nights, I imagine that Noah only took the Groceries and the supplies that he would require for 40 days. We never get to read in the bible, of Noah being tired out of dehydration or lack of Food, while he was in the ship or out, Who provided Noah? God provided all that Noah needed.

When Abram , left , and went his way to the promise land , on God’s command , Abram , who latter became Abraham did not have a campus or a road map , or did not even question whether he was going to the north or to the south , to the East or to the West . When God brought Abraham to the land the Bible says, Look at North, south, ect, till your eye can see I will give the land, Who provided Abraham ? God Provided!.

The Israel’s in the desert is a best example that show that god provides , god provided food , and water , God provided the Israelites is such an extraordinary way that the bible says the following

Deu 29:5 And I have led you forty years in the wilderness: your clothes are not waxen old upon you, and thy shoe is not waxen old upon thy foot

Who provided ? God Almighty! Provided.

When the Israelites asked for a King , Did not God provide them kings to rule over then , even though god was sad that his children asked for a King other Than Himself

1Sa 12:19 And all the people said unto Samuel, Pray for thy servants unto the LORD thy God, that we die not: for we have added unto all our sins this evil, to ask us a king.

Though out we see his children, being scattered away and being brought back, we see His children walking away from God and we see them rejoicing in God,

Mat 23:37 O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, thou that killest the prophets, and stonest them which are sent unto thee, how often would I have gathered thy children together, even as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings, and ye would not!

Here we get to read in the bible, the willingness of our loving father to gather us

God, out of love for us that he send his only son to this world, as an ultimate sacrifices for the end to our sins

Rom 5:8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

If God does so much for his Children it is an assured fact that God will Provide all our Need, there are many verses in the bible that assures that god is Sufficient, and provides all things

We read in the bible, of God providing food for prophet Elijah, brought by Birds ,from nowhere!

1 Kings 17:6 "And the ravens brought him bread and meat in the morning, and bread and meat in the evening; and he drank of the brook."

What more proof do we need that God is sufficient to provide all you needs , the bible assures in the new testament as :

God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory.

Weather your need be physical or emotional, god is sufficient to provide, Remember he is our creator, , who would know us more? Than the one who created us, who can satisfy us more than God , who has molded us in our mothers womb.

If you think that God is far away and unable to help you in your hour of need, do not be dismayed. The bible says:

Isa 59:1 Behold, the LORD'S hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear.

God values the life of every single sole in this world. He waits like father in the Prodigal son. He is more than willing to provide you all you needs, he could even send angels to help you.
God could use you to help someone else as well, but; if you are ever used by God never boost for it is not you but it is God that has made it to be.

We all know MichelAngelo, for his masterpieces, we do not speak of the tools that he used to make his masterpieces, if you are used to help someone It is God and GOD alone that deserves Praise!

Oh, that men would give thanks to the LORD for His goodness, And for His wonderful works to the children of men! For He satisfies the longing soul, And fills the hungry soul with goodness" (Ps. 107:8-9, NKJV).

So whey delay? Come and Be acquainted with Him and experience His Supreme Satisfaction he Gives his Children like no other!

The Prophet Samuel

In the Old Testament, the Lord was instructing the children of Israel in dreams and visions to His prophets and priests. There were several periods during which the children of Israel did evil in the eyes of the Lord by worshipping idols. During those periods the word of the Lord became rare and there were not many visions. The Lord also delivered them to the hands of their enemies until they repented and returned to Him. He then gave them prophets and judges to lead them to His way and to rescue them from their oppressors.
Samuel, who was dedicated to the service of the Lord before his birth, became a prophet. He anointed the first two kings of Israel, Saul and David. During his lifetime, the hand of the Lord was against the Philistines.

The birth of Samuel
During the time of Eli the priest and his two sons Hophni and Phinehas were priests of the Lord in Shiloh, a man called Elkanah from Ramathaim had two wives Hannah and Peninnah. Peninnah who had children used to provoke Hannah who was barren, and this went on year after year.
Every year, Elkanah used to go to Shiloh and offer his sacrifices to the Lord in the Tabernacle. There Hannah wept to the Lord in the Tabernacle with bitter soul and prayed that He would remove her shame and give her a child. She vowed saying "O Lord of hosts, if thou wilt indeed look on the affliction of thine handmaid, and remember me and not forget thine handmaid, but wilt give unto thine handmaid a man child, then I will give him unto the Lord all the days of his life, and there shall no razor come upon his head." (I Samuel 1:11)
Eli the priest saw Hannah mumble, for she was praying silently, and rebuked her thinking she was drunk. When he realized she was praying out of anguish and grief he blessed her saying "Go in peace: and the God of Israel grant thy petition that thou hast asked of him." (I Samuel 1:17)
A year later, Hannah gave birth to a son and called him "Samuel" (which means "heard of God") for she has asked him of the Lord. When Samuel was two years old, she presented him in the Tabernacle in Shiloh to serve the Lord all his life.
Meanwhile Eli's two sons who were priests were wicked, and the Lord rejected them because they did not listen to their father's rebuke. A man of God came and told Eli the priest, their father that He will bring their wickedness on all his house and that they will all die in the prime of life. God also told him that his two sons, Hophni and Phinehas, will be killed together in the same day as a sign for the Lord's anger against them.

The Lord calls Samuel
Samuel was ministering to the Lord under Eli the priest as a child girded with a linen ephod. His mother Hannah made him a little coat and brought it to him along with their yearly sacrifices. Now Eli the priest blessed Elkanah and his wife to have more children. Hannah later on had three more sons and two daughters, while Samuel grew before the Lord.
One night when Eli the priest grew old and his sight became weak, Samuel was sleeping in the Tabernacle, where the ark of God was, God called Samuel, so he ran to Eli the priest and answered "Here am I; for thou calledst me". Eli then denied and asked him to go back to sleep. But then again the sound came calling Samuel, and he did the same, and Eli sent him back again. The third time, Eli understood that it was the Lord calling Samuel and sent him saying: "Go, lie down: and it shall be, if he calls thee, that thou shalt say, Speak, Lord, for thy servant heareth." (I Samuel 3:9)
Then the Lord came again and called Samuel. When Samuel did as Eli instructed him, the Lord told Samuel about the things He will do to Eli's house for the evil doings of his sons and for he has failed to restrain them.
Samuel then grew and the Lord was with him and all of Israel knew that Samuel was established to be a prophet of the Lord. The Lord appeared again in Shiloh and revealed Himself to Samuel.

Israel asks for a king
Samuel judged for Israel all his life in Ramah where he also built an altar. He also went on a circuit every year to judge for all Israel, but he always went back to his house in Ramah. When he grew old he made his sons judges over Israel, but they did not walk in his way but perverted judgement. Then, all the elders of Israel gathered to Samuel at Ramah asking him to appoint a king to rule over them as all the other nations had. This displeased Samuel for they have rejected God as their king, but the Lord allowed it asking Samuel to warn them about how the king will rule over them, how they will suffer form him and the Lord would not answer them. The Israelites insisted on having a king and refused to listen to Samuel.
Some time later, the Lord revealed to Samuel that a Benjamite man would come to him, and that to anoint king over Israel. The following day, Saul son of Kish lost his way while looking for his father's donkeys, and he went to ask guidance from Samuel. The Lord pointed him to Samuel who praised him and invited him to dine with him. Before Saul left, Samuel took a flask of oil and poured it on Saul's head and kissed him and told him that the Lord has chosen him as king. As Saul left Samuel, God changed his heart, and he prophesied. Later that day, Samuel called the Israelites to Mizpeh to choose a king and the Lord chose Saul and he was made king.

Samuel's farewell speech
The Ammonites then besieged the city of Jabesh and were going to gouge out the right eye of every one of the Israelites. Saul then, moved by the Spirit of God and His power, and lead the people of Israel to slaughtered the Ammonites. He was confirmed king over Israel at Gilgal. That same day, Samuel addressed the Israelites and told them again how evil was it from them to ask for a king instead of God. He asked for a sign from God for them to believe; he called upon the Lord and asked Him to send thunder and rain during that wheat harvest season. The Israelites stood in awe of the Lord and Samuel, and wept and asked for God's forgiveness. Samuel assured them that as long as they feared the Lord and followed His commandments He will save them.

Samuel anoints David
The Philistines rose again to fight the Israelites and scared them. Saul was waiting for Samuel to come to the camp but when he tarried, Saul offered the burnt offering. Soon after, Samuel came and rebuked Saul for his foolish act. God spoke on Samuel's tongue that Saul's kingdom would not endure and that God has chosen a man after God's own heart to be a king.
Later on, the Lord sent Samuel to ask Saul to go and punish the Amalekites and not to spare any of them or their animals. Saul fought them all the way to the east of Egypt and captured Agag their king and their best cattle but destroyed all the rest. Again God sent Samuel to rebuke Saul, who wanted to offer these animals to God. But God was not pleased by these offerings more than by obeying His words; and since God rejected Saul. Samuel killed Agag and went back to Ramah and grieved for Saul. The Spirit of the Lord departed from Saul and an evil spirit tormented him.
The Lord then said to Samuel: "How long wilt thou mourn for Saul, seeing I have rejected him from reigning over Israel? fill thine horn with oil, and go, I will send thee to Jesse the Bethlehemite: for I have provided me a king among his sons." (I Samuel 16:1) When Samuel did not choose any of Jesse's seven sons who were presented, they sent for the youngest, David, who was tending his father's sheep. He was the one with whom God was pleased and Samuel anointed him, and the Spirit of the Lord came on David in power.
When Saul heard of David, he brought him to play the harp when the evil spirit from God comes upon him. But when David killed Goliath by the name of the Lord Almighty, Saul kept a jealous eye on David for his success and because the Lord was with David. He also tried to kill him twice while playing the harp for him. David fled, he went to Samuel at Ramah and told him all that Saul had done to him. Then he and Samuel went to Naioth and stayed there. Sometime later, David sought refuge in the land of the Philistines.

Saul and the witch of Endor
When Samuel died, all Israel mourned for him and buried him in Ramah. Then the Philistines gathered to fight against Israel and scared Saul and terror filled his heart. He sought help from the Lord but God did not answer him. He sought a woman spiritist (because he had expelled them from the land). He found one in Endor, disguised himself and asked her to bring up Samuel.
When the woman saw Samuel, she screamed out of fear; she also realized that the man who sought her was Saul himself. When Saul asked Samuel for help and guidance, Samuel answered: "Why have you disturbed me by bringing me up? ... Why do you consult me, now that the LORD has turned away from you and become your enemy? The LORD has done what he predicted through me. The LORD has torn the kingdom out of your hands and given it to one of your neighbors--to David. Because you did not obey the LORD or carry out his fierce wrath against the Amalekites, the LORD has done this to you today. The LORD will hand over both Israel and you to the Philistines, and tomorrow you and your sons will be with me. The LORD will also hand over the army of Israel to the Philistines." (I Samuel 28:15-19)

Samuel is also mentioned in the Qur’an
Samuel is also a revered prophet and seer in the Islamic faith. Although he is mentioned in the Qur'an, his name is not given but he is instead referred to as "a Prophet". According to Islamic history, the Israelites, after the time of the prophet Moses, wanted a king to rule over their country. Thus, God sent the prophet Samuel to anoint Saul as the first king for the Israelites. The Qur'an states:
Bethink thee of the leaders of the Children of Israel after Moses, how they said unto a prophet whom they had: Set up for us a king and we will fight in God's way. He said: Would ye then refrain from fighting if fighting were prescribed for you? They said: Why should we not fight in God's way when we have been driven from our dwellings with our children? Yet, when fighting was prescribed for them, they turned away, all save a few of them. God is aware of evil-doers.
—Qur'an, sura 2 (Al-Baqara), ayah 246

The Qur'an goes onto state that a king was anointed by the prophet, whose name was Talut (Saul in the Hebrew Bible). However, it states that the Israelites mocked and reviled the newly appointed king, as he was not wealthy from birth. But, in sharp contrast to the Hebrew Bible, the Qur'an praises Saul greatly, and mentions that he was gifted with great spiritual and physical strength. In the Qur'anic account, Samuel prophesies to the children of Israel, telling them that the sign of Saul's kingship will be that the Ark of the Covenant will come back to the Israelites:
Their Prophet said unto them: Lo! God hath raised up Saul to be a king for you. They said: How can he have kingdom over us when we are more deserving of the kingdom than he is, since he hath not been given wealth enough? He said: Lo! God hath chosen him above you, and hath increased him abundantly in wisdom and stature. God bestoweth His Sovereignty on whom He will. God is All-Embracing, All-Knowing.
—Qur'an, sura 2 (Al-Baqara), ayah 247

Conclusion
God knows the hearts and his promises never fail. God puts down the mighty ones from their seats and exalt the humble. God talks to His loved ones and reveals His acts to them. God's Spirit helps His servants and supports them. God is pleased by obeying His commandments more than by oblations and sacrifices.

Peace

Lev 26:6 And I will give peace in the land, and ye shall lie down, and none shall make you afraid: and I will rid evil beasts out of the land, neither shall the sword go through your land.

Num 6:26 The LORD lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.
